what is rev?

rev is a vibrant community of builders, founders, researchers, and creatives at Northeastern University in Boston. It’s a collaborative space where students come together to explore side projects and turn ideas into reality. Whether you’re coding a startup, working on research, or crafting creative projects, rev provides the support, motivation, and accountability to help you build and ship your ideas.

what’s in it for you?

rev is for students who want to:

• Work on side projects with a supportive peer community
• Learn informally from others who have done related work
• Build a tight-knit friend group of builders and creators
• Find motivation and discipline to execute an idea or project
• Focus on grinding and shipping—without the pressure of formal presentations

Examples of current and past members include students from psychology, neuroscience, economics, CS, journalism, and machine learning backgrounds who have built projects ranging from startups to documentaries.

what does rev actually do?

Members can expect:

• Coworking sessions twice a week for focused work and accountability
• Hackathons at least once per semester to accelerate ideas
• Lightning talks to share projects or ideas and gather feedback
• Connections with venture capitalists and startup events off-campus
• Showcases (rev launches) each semester to demo progress in a supportive environment
